Making its debut at the Farnborough Air Show, new Ankara-based aviation company TRJet announced the company’s most recent orders for the comprehensively modernized 328 Series aircraft. Signing a Letter of Intent at Farnborough International Airshow, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) committed to the purchase of 10 TRJ328 aircraft and Sentinel Aerospace Group of Singapore has confirmed five TRP328™ turboprop aircraft for special mission use. TRJet’s 328 Series is an enhanced and technologically updated version of the acclaimed Dornier 328 aircraft known for its multipurpose use and extreme versatility. The only aircraft of its kind certified with both a jet and turboprop variation, the 328 Series is ideal for a wide variety of uses spanning surveillance and rescue missions to passenger and VIP jets.
TRJet and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) are developing initial agreements to support the highly anticipated Turkish Regional Aircraft Project. TRJet looks to leverage TAI’s experience and success as a supplier to top-tier commercial aviation Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to support the TRJ328 aircraft. Additionally, TRJet and TAI are actively discussing how to best utilize TAI’s design capabilities to support the development of the new, larger, indigenously designed aircraft.
TRJet and Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) have reached agreement on certain principal terms of the contract for the highly-anticipated Turkish Regional Aircraft Project. SSM is the project’s lead procurement agency, which in 2015 executed a memorandum of understanding between TRJet and the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs & Communications to produce the country’s first regional jet with an order of up to 50 aircraft. Under the terms of the Project, TRJet will first produce a modernized and enhanced version of the acclaimed Dornier 328 aircraft. TRJet intends to leverage to the greatest extent possible, the resources currently available within the Turkish aviation industry to bring its TRJ328 aircraft to market. The initial order is set for delivery to six end-users including the Turkish Ministry of Health and the Turkish Airports Authority. The aircraft will serve a number of strategic roles ranging from Air Ambulance, Special Mission, VIP, Airport Calibration and passenger transport, further demonstrating the unique capabilities of the 328 Series.
