Avolon, a global aviation finance company, has signed an agreement to lease ten Airbus A321neo aircraft to AJet, the low-cost subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. The agreement, signed during the Paris Air Show, includes aircraft deliveries scheduled for 2027 and supports AJet’s plans to modernise its fleet and expand its route network.
AJet currently operates 92 aircraft and serves 100 destinations across Türkiye, the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and the CIS region. The addition of the A321neo aircraft will help the airline improve operational efficiency and reduce its environmental impact.
The A321neo is part of Airbus’ A320neo family and offers 20% lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, along with 50% less noise compared to earlier-generation models. These improvements will allow AJet to meet its performance goals while aligning with broader sustainability efforts.
Avolon already has 140 A320neo-family aircraft in service and a further 294 on order. This extensive portfolio enables the company to support airlines looking to upgrade to newer, more efficient aircraft types.
Andy Cronin, CEO of Avolon, stated: “We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Turkish Airlines and support AJet’s continued growth. Our large A320neo family orderbook is in high demand from airlines who are looking to expand their route networks and renew their fleet with new-technology aircraft.”
