StandardAero has celebrated the grand opening of its newly expanded business aviation facility at Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia. The development marks a major milestone for the company, increasing its capacity to serve business aviation operators across North America and globally, while also bringing around 100 new skilled jobs to the region.
The project represents a significant 60% increase in the size of the Augusta site, adding 80,500 ft² of space dedicated to hangar facilities, an engine shop, advanced avionics, and improved customer amenities. The expansion takes the overall campus size to 210,000 ft². The investment strengthens StandardAero’s ability to provide Honeywell HTF7000 engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, where the company remains the sole independent provider licensed by the OEM for heavy overhauls. Additionally, the facility will now offer expanded airframe services for large cabin business jets, broadening its service portfolio.
Founded in 1974, the Augusta facility has built a reputation for comprehensive maintenance and repair support across a range of aircraft platforms, including Bombardier, Dassault Falcon, Embraer, Gulfstream and Hawker. It also specialises in engine and auxiliary power unit (APU) models such as the Honeywell HTF7000, TFE731, and GTCP36 APU.
The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by executives, local and state officials, customers and employees. Guests were given an insight into the site’s enhanced capabilities and the career opportunities now available for technicians, engineers and support staff in the Augusta area.
While airframe maintenance work has already commenced in the new hangar, the purpose-built engine shop, designed to support the growing demand for HTF7000 MRO services, is scheduled to be fully operational by the first half of 2026. StandardAero currently employs around 175 people at its Augusta facility and nearly 7,700 across its worldwide operations.
