CDB Aviation, a wholly owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., (CDB Leasing), has delivered three Boeing 737-8 aircraft to its existing customer, Calgary-based carrier WestJet.
These latest-generation 737-8 aircraft will strengthen WestJet’s narrow-body fleet, deliver improved fuel efficiency and provide affordable, flexible travel options for the airline’s guests, including satellite-supported Wi-Fi.
“We’ve built a strong partnership with the WestJet team since the inaugural transaction between our companies in 2020,” commented Luís da Silva, CDB Aviation’s Head of Commercial, the Americas. “To date, we have financed and leased a total of 13 737-8 aircraft, supporting this strong and growing Canadian airline.”
Canada’s coast-to-coast leisure champion and western home carrier will deploy the 737-8 aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet expansion programme, supporting its low-cost structure as a key driver of its growth strategy.
