Bombardier has announced the acquisition of Velocity Maintenance Solutions (VMS), a provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, headquartered in New Castle, Delaware. Completed through Bombardier’s US subsidiary, Learjet, the strategic transaction represents a further step in the company’s continued expansion of its services business and strengthens its commitment to delivering convenience and support to operators worldwide. BGL’s Aerospace, Defense & Government Services (ADGS) investment banking team served as the exclusive financial advisor to VMS in the transaction.
Velocity Maintenance Solutions adds further expertise and a strong reputation for service excellence to Bombardier’s market-leading network. The company operates a 35,000 ft² hangar at Wilmington Airport in Delaware and is supported by a fleet of 14 mobile repair trucks across the United States. This footprint will further strengthen Bombardier’s ability to offer operators a comprehensive range of maintenance, support and service solutions, close to their operational bases.
“Velocity Maintenance Solutions’ capabilities and customer-focused culture make it an excellent fit for Bombardier.” commented Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Aftermarket Services. “This acquisition is part of our commitment to continually elevate our service standards: a mindset that has brought us number one rankings in industry surveys for two consecutive years.”
