All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s largest airline, has announced changes to its board leadership with the appointment of Juichi Hirasawa, currently Representative Director and Senior Executive Vice President, as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will succeed Shinichi Inoue on April 1, 2026, on which date, Inoue will assume the role of Senior Advisor at ANA Holdings Inc.
Hirasawa graduated from Keio University and joined ANA in 1986. Over the course of his career with the ANA Group, he has held a range of senior roles, primarily in business planning and corporate strategy. Since becoming an Executive Officer in 2018, he has played a central role in shaping and implementing management strategy, guiding the company through the unprecedented disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He currently serves as Representative Director and Executive Vice President of ANA Holdings Inc., where his responsibilities focus on industrial policy, government relations and economic security.
Inoue was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of ANA in April 2022. During his tenure, the airline contributed to the Group achieving record-high operating revenue in the 2024 financial year, while retaining its prestigious 5-Star SKYTRAX rating. Under his leadership, ANA has returned to a sustained growth trajectory as a leading global airline, with safety remaining its foremost priority.
