Air Astana Group has placed a firm order for 25 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, marking the largest direct aircraft order in the group’s history. The agreement coincides with the 20th anniversary of Air Astana’s first A320 operation in 2006 and comprises five A320neo and 20 A321neo aircraft.
Peter Foster, Chief Executive of Air Astana, said the substantial order underlines the airline’s long-term commitment to operational efficiency and service excellence. He noted that the A320neo family has delivered strong performance within the carrier’s fleet for many years. In particular, he highlighted the A321LR in its premium configuration, which enables the airline to offer what it regards as a leading narrow-body long-haul product, combining extended range capability with a high-quality onboard experience. Foster added that the new aircraft will support sustainable growth and strengthen profitability over the long term.
The newly ordered aircraft will be deployed across both Air Astana and its low-cost subsidiary, FlyArystan, forming part of a broader fleet renewal and expansion strategy. Air Astana Group currently operates 59 Airbus A320-family aircraft, and the additional units will further modernise the fleet while increasing overall capacity.
