Liebherr-Aerospace Saline, Inc. has completed its fifth major expansion since 1993, further enhancing its aftermarket service capacities.
The new facility spans 33,000 ft², or 3,065 m² and adjoins the existing complex; the most recent addition before this was inaugurated in 2016. The new building was officially opened during a ceremony attended by company management, employees and invited guests.
This expansion responds directly to growing global demand for aftermarket services. It will provide additional testing, repair, overhaul, and recore capacity for Liebherr heat transfer equipment. These systems are installed on a wide range of aircraft types, including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer and Mitsubishi models.
The facility is also designed to optimise internal MRO processes for various additional product lines. It will increase essential landing gear processing capacity at the main site, while also extending the area dedicated to pneumatic component maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities.
Alex Vlielander, Chief Customer Officer at Liebherr-Aerospace & Transportation SAS, pointed out the importance of the expansion. He explained that strong customer support worldwide has validated the company’s strategy of being physically close to its clients.
Vlielander added that expanding the MRO network provides multiple advantages. It shortens turnaround times by eliminating unnecessary transport of components. It also reduces overall maintenance costs for airlines and operators. Additionally, it supports sustainability goals by lowering the company’s carbon footprint.
Liebherr-Aerospace Saline’s continued investment demonstrates its commitment to supporting customers in North America and beyond. Since 1993, the site has grown consistently, reflecting both market demand and the company’s focus on operational excellence.
