Air Lease has released its update on aircraft investments, sales, and related activities for the third quarter of 2025, highlighting steady growth in its global fleet and continued progress on key transactions.
As of September 30, 2025, Air Lease’s fleet comprised 503 owned aircraft and a further 50 managed aircraft. In addition, the company maintains an orderbook of 228 new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing scheduled for delivery through to 2031. This pipeline underlines Air Lease’s long-term commitment to expanding and refreshing its portfolio with next-generation, fuel-efficient models.
During the quarter, the company took delivery of 13 new aircraft from its orderbook. These included two Airbus A220s, two Airbus A321neos, six Boeing 737-8s, and three Boeing 737-9s. The total value of aircraft investments during the period reached approximately US$685 million, with the majority of this activity concentrated in the first half of the quarter. These investments demonstrate the company’s ongoing strategy of aligning its fleet with the evolving needs of airline customers around the world.
In parallel, Air Lease completed the sale of five aircraft to third-party buyers, achieving proceeds of approximately US$220 million. The sales form part of the company’s broader capital management strategy, balancing acquisitions with selective disposals to ensure an optimised fleet and financial flexibility.
Air Lease also confirmed a net benefit of approximately US$60 million arising from insurance settlements related to its former Russian fleet. The figure reflects agreements reached with certain insurers, representing a step forward in resolving claims that had stemmed from the suspension of operations in Russia.
Overall, the third quarter of 2025 underscores Air Lease’s ability to pursue disciplined growth while managing its balance sheet and strengthening its long-term position as a global leader in aircraft leasing.
