Eurocopter India, a subsidiary of Eurocopter, announced its first bookings in India for 2012. Comprising light and medium class helicopters, the bookings included an AS350 B3e, an EC135 and an EC155. Signed against the backdrop of India Aviation 2012 in Hyderabad, these helicopters will be delivered in corporate configuration within this year.
GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced delivery of a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Panama’s Copa Airlines to expand its fleet. The aircraft comes from GECAS’ existing order book with Boeing.
Norwegian Air Shuttle, the third largest low-cost airline in Europe, is the newest GoldCare customer, with a 12-year agreement that covers the airline’s future 787 Dreamliner fleet. Norwegian has three 787-8s on firm order, with commitments to lease three additional 787s. Norwegian has selected GoldCare Enterprise, which encompasses the complete parts, engineering, and maintenance solution.
GE Aviation is celebrating the completion of the 1000th GE90-115B engine at its facility in Peebles, Ohio (USA). The engine hit the 1000th mark eight years after it entered service with International Lease Finance Corporation’s customer Air France. AAR has been selected by Airbus Military to provide off-wing repairs management and logistics services. The five-year programs will be managed by AAR’s Defense Systems & Logistics operating unit. The Japan Ministry of Defense signed a contract on March 8th with Eurocopter to acquire an EC225, heavy twin-engine helicopter, from Eurocopter’s Super Puma family. Structural assembly of the first A350 XWB aft fuselage destined for the first flying A350 XWB (MSN1) has been completed at Airbus’ manufacturing site in Hamburg (Germany).
