JetBlue Airways has announced its preliminary traffic results for December 2019. Traffic in December 2019 increased 5.7% from December 2018, on a capacity increase of 4.4%. Load factor for December 2019 was 82.4%, an increase of 1.0 point from December 2018. JetBlue’s preliminary completion factor for December 2019 was 99.3%.

The Air France / KLM Group (Air France, KLM and Transavia) has released its traffic figures for December 2019. Group traffic increased 3.5% compared to December 2018, while capacity was up 2.6%. Group load factor increased 0.7 points to 86.4%, compared to the previous year.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines has released that the total capacity increased by 0.9% in December 2019, while traffic increased by 2.6%, driven by growth in demand on SAS scheduled traffic. As a result, the passenger load factor improved by 1.2 points to 71.1%. Currency adjusted unit revenue and passenger yield increased by 3.1% and 1.2% respectively.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), decreased by 1.1% in November 2019, compared to the same period in 2018. Norwegian has reported that total capacity decreased by 25% in December 2019, while total passenger traffic decreased by 21%. The load factor was 83.5%, up by 4.9 points compared to the previous year. The unit revenue increased by 21%.
In December 2019, Finnair experienced strong demand and carried 1,154,000 passengers, 11.7% more than in the corresponding period of 2018. The overall capacity increased in December by 12.3%. Finnair’s traffic increased by 13.5%, and the passenger load factor increased year-on-year by 0.8% points to 77.2%.
IAG traffic in December 2019 increased by 6.4% versus the same period in 2018, while IAG capacity increased by 2.0%. The load factor was up by 3.5 points to 83.9% versus December 2018.
Alaska Air Group has reported November operational results on a consolidated basis, for its mainline operations operated by subsidiary Alaska Airlines and for its regional flying operated by subsidiary Horizon Air Industries and third-party regional carriers.
