Traffic

Vueling reported traffic increase of 5.9% for October 2011, while capacity increased 3.5% year over year. The company has reached a load factor of 76.8%, 1.8 points higher than last year.

SAS Group’s traffic increased by 2.6% during October and capacity increased 3.3% compared to the same period last year. The passenger load factor decreased by 0.5 pts in October to 75%. SAS Group carried 2.6 million passengers in October, up 3.9%.

For the month of October 2011, Copa Holdings’ system-wide passenger traffic increased 14.7%, while capacity increased 20.8%.  System load factor for October 2011 was 74.0%, a 3.9 pt decline when compared to October 2010.

Finnair traffic rose by approximately 9.1% October 2011, as the overall capacity grew by 14.8% compared with October 2010. The load factor was down 4.1 pts to 63.4% compared to the same period in 2010. Asian capacity grew by 26.9% and traffic increased by 14.1%.

Frontier Airlines, a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, reported preliminary traffic results for October 2011. Frontier’s traffic increased 2%, while capacity was down 3%. October had a load factor of 88% compared to 83% in the same month last year, up 5.o pts.

Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for October 2011. Traffic was 3% lower than the same month last year, while capacity was down 4%. Consolidated load factor was 82% in October of 2011, versus 81% in the same month last year.

For the month of October, Air Canada reported a system load factor of 79.4%, versus 80.3% in October 2010, a decrease of 0.9 pts.  System traffic increased 2.0% on a system-wide capacity increase of 3.2%.

Ryanair released that October traffic grew 4% compared to the same period in October 2010 while the load factor dropped slighty 1.0 pt to 84%.

American Airlines reported an October load factor of 83.2%, which compares to 83.6% in the same period last year. American’s capacity and traffic were 0.7% and 1.1% lower year-over-year, respectively.

Delta Air Lines’ system load factor for October was 82.8%, 0.6 points lower than the prior year on a 3.1% decrease in capacity.  System traffic decreased 3.8% percent year over year.
