AerCap has signed a letter of intent for the purchase of 70 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. AerCap was formerly known as debis AirFinance, which was recently acquired by Cerberus. In 1999 AerCap (then debis AirFinance) had ordered 31 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The new deal will take its Airbus portfolio to more than 170 aircraft. …

American Airlines announced that it has applied to the United States Department of Transportation for authorization to begin codeshare cooperation with Vietnam Airlines in early 2006. The two airlines plan to implement their codeshare services in phases.
