Boeing delivers 1,400th 747 to GECAS

Boeing delivered its 1,400th 747, a 747-400 Freighter to GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) for lease to AirBridgeCargo Airlines, a subsidiary of the Volga-Dnepr Group. ABX Holdings elects Dominick to Board of Directors

ABX Holdings reported the election of Jeffrey A. Dominick, an experienced financial professional with an extensive background in the airline, transportation and logistics industry, to its Board of Directors. Dominick will complete the term of Frederick Reed, who passed away in August 2007. That term will end in 2010.

Ryanair announces 27th European base in Edinburgh

Ryanair announced its 27th European and second Scottish base in Edinburgh. From September, Ryanair will base two new Boeing 737-800 aircraft (worth $140 million) which will serve 19 routes to/from Edinburgh. These new routes will deliver 1.2 million passengers and sustain 1,200 jobs in Edinburgh and East Scotland.
