Delta receives DOT approval to begin flights between New York-JFK and Bogota
Delta Air Lines has received preliminary approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin daily nonstop flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Bogota, Colombia. The daily frequencies between JFK and Bogota would complement Delta’s existing daily service to Colombia from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

BA releases improved traffic numbers for February
In February 2008, passenger capacity was 4.4% above February 2007. Traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres, rose by 5.3%. This resulted in a passenger load factor increase of 0.6 points versus last year, to 68.4%.

AirTran Airways reports all-time record February traffic
For February, traffic grew by 28.2% based on a 14.0% increase in capacity. The company’s load factor for the month was 78.1%. The airline enplaned more than 1.8 million passengers for the month, a 21.9% increase from February 2007.
