American Eagle reported an April load factor of 70.8%, down 3.4 points compared to the same period last year, traffic decreased 7.6% year over year as capacity decreased 3.1%.

American Airlines reported an April load factor of 80.1%, a decline of 2.0 points compared to the same period last year. Traffic decreased 6.6% year over year and capacity decreased 4.3%, driven in large part by MD-80 inspection cancellations in early April.

Southwest Airlines reported that April 2008 traffic increased 5.7%, capacity increased 5.3% and the load factor for the month was 72.6%, compared to 72.3% for the same period last year.

WestJet announced April traffic results with a load factor of 82.5% and a capacity increase of 21.1. Traffic for the month of April increased 20.5% compared to the same period last year.

Alaska Air Group reported April passenger traffic for its subsidiaries, Alaska Airlines (Alaska) and Horizon Air (Horizon). Alaska’s April traffic increased 3.4%, capacity during April was 3.4% higher than in April 2007 and the passenger load factor for the month was 76.9%, which remained unchanged from April 2007.
