Bristow Group reported firm agreements to purchase 14 new aircraft. Bristow has exercised options to acquire three S-92 and six S-76C++ helicopters from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. In addition, Bristow has exercised options to purchase two EC225 and three EC135 helicopters from Eurocopter, a division of EADS.

Etihad Airways announced an order for 35 787-9 Dreamliners and 10 777-300ERs (Extended Range) at the Farnborough Airshow. China Southern Airlines has selected CFM56-5B engines to power a new fleet of 20 Airbus A320 family aircraft, and back the engine purchase with a long-term material services agreement.

Saudi Arabian Airlines has again selected the CFM56-5B engine to power 22 new Airbus A320 family aircraft. The order is valued at approximately $300 million at list price. This is in addition to previously selecting 20 leased Airbus A320s, also powered by CFM56-5B engines The airline will begin taking delivery of new aircraft in 2009.

Babcock & Brown Air Limited leased and delivered two Boeing 757-200 aircraft to Ethiopian Airlines. Both aircraft had previously been leased to ATA Airlines in the United States. The new lease agreements are for terms of five years at market rates higher than those of the previous contracts.
