Macquarie Airfinance has finalized an agreement for the purchase of LEAP-1A engines to power its order placed last year for 20 new Airbus A320neo aircraft. “
Avolon, the international aircraft leasing company, announces an order for 140 LEAP-1A engines from CFM International to power 70 Airbus A320neo family aircraft in its order book. The order is valued at US$2 billion at list prices. Avolon has been a customer of CFM International since its launch in 2010 and today owns a fleet of over 290 CFM-powered aircraft. Avolon has placed orders for a total of 240 Airbus A320neo family aircraft 42 of which are delivered. Following this announcement CFM LEAP-1A engines will power 105 of these aircraft. This order represents Avolon’s largest ever engine order to date, and one of CFM’s biggest ever engine transactions with a lessor for the LEAP engine.
Indonesia’s PT Garuda Maintenance Facility AeroAsia (GMF AeroAsia) and CFM International have signed a Material Service Agreement. Together with this Materials contract, the current CFM56-7B license agreement for overhaul has been extended for an additional five years and a new five-year license for CFM56-5B overhauls added.
SMBC Aviation Capital, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies, announced it has ordered forty CFM International LEAP-1A engines to power 20 additional Airbus A320neo aircraft. The engine order is valued at $588 million U.S. at list price. A long-time CFM customer, Dublin-based SMBC Aviation Capital currently has a fleet of more than 350 aircraft powered by CFM56 and LEAP engines in service or on order.
Peach Aviation and CFM International have signed an agreement for the purchase of 20 LEAP-1A engines to power the airline’s new fleet of Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The agreement is valued at US$294 million U.S. at list price; the aircraft were ordered in 2016. Peach has been a CFM customer since the airline launched commercial service with CFM56-5B-powered Airbus A320ceo aircraft in 2012. Today, the airline operates a fleet of 26 CFM-powered aircraft.
Zhejiang Loong Air has signed a 12-year Rate-Per-Flight-Hour Agreement with CFM International for 40 LEAP-1A engines powering the airline’s fleet of leased Airbus A320neo/A321neo aircraft. The agreement is valued at $800 million U.S. at list price. RPFH agreements are part of CFM’s portfolio of flexible aftermarket support offerings. Under the terms of the agreement, CFM Services guarantees maintenance costs for the airlines LEAP-1A engines on a dollar per engine flight hour basis.
