On June 21, 2021 Australian independent regional and domestic airline REX Airlines (RAL) signed an agreement to purchase one CFM56 engine from MTU Maintenance Lease Services B.V., a subsidiary of MTU Aero Engines.
This engine will enhance RAL’s existing capability in maintaining better aircraft supportability for its fleet of Boeing 737-800NG jets. This will be a positive step forward in strengthening RAL’s position in the domestic aviation landscape in Australia.
