Majority state-owned global lessor BOC Aviation has announced that it has placed an order with Boeing for 40 more of its fuel-efficient 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery during 2027 and 2028. This takes BOC's total order book with Boeing for the 737 MAX 8 to 80 aircraft.
Originally known as Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (SALE) and established by the flag-carrying Singapore Airlines along with Boullioun Aviation Services, a U.S.-based aircraft operating leasing company, the company was acquired by the Bank of China in 2006 and subsequently renamed BOC Aviation to reflect the name of its new owner.
