Airbus Defence and Space has announced plans to acquire INFODAS, a leading Cologne-based German firm specialising in cybersecurity and IT solutions for the public sector, including defence and critical infrastructures. The agreement, subject to regulatory approvals, is anticipated to be finalised by the close of 2024.
This strategic move aligns with Airbus' commitment to fortify its cybersecurity offerings, catering to both European and global clientele. As cyber threats continue to escalate amidst growing digitalisation and connectivity, Airbus recognises cybersecurity as integral to its evolution. The acquisition underscores Airbus' dedication to enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities, ensuring robust protection for its products, operations, customers and ecosystem, including flagship programmes like the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).
INFODAS, boasting approximately 250 employees and annual revenues nearing €50 million, operates from its headquarters in Cologne and satellite offices across Germany in Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich and Mainz. Notably, INFODAS holds certification from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider, specialising in information system auditing, consulting, and penetration tests. Moreover, INFODAS' SDoT Security Gateway product line is endorsed for classification levels up to secret, certified in accordance with common criteria and holds various country-specific accreditations.
