Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) and TAAG Angola Airlines E.P., the national carrier of Angola, have sealed a six-year Fleet Management™ Program (FMP) agreement. This arrangement encompasses engine maintenance services for the airline’s PW150A engines, which power its fleet of Dash 8-400 regional turboprops. Notably, the agreement empowers Pratt & Whitney to customise coverage to suit the airline’s operational context.
“Airlines that provide regional connectivity such as TAAG play a vital role in helping customers travel to major urban centres, often for connections to international destinations,” said Irene Makris, Vice President, Customer Service, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “Consequently, the dispatch reliability of regional aircraft plays a critical role in keeping the entire ecosystem operating efficiently and economically. By maintaining TAAG’s PW150A engines we are helping to ensure optimal aircraft availability and engine asset management.”
The agreement encompasses Pratt & Whitney’s proprietary oil-analysis technology and its FAST™ diagnostic and prognostic solution. This cutting-edge technology captures, analyses, and wirelessly transmits full-flight data intelligence to the customer within minutes of engine shutdown.
Fleet management programmes are adaptable, value-driven maintenance planning solutions that reduce operating costs and streamline fleet operations management. Tailored to meet the specific needs of fleet operators and airlines, Pratt & Whitney’s FMPs enable customers to concentrate on their core business while eliminating the overhead and logistical complexities associated with operating a maintenance facility.
