Airbus Helicopters has finalised a deal with the Ministry of Defence of Brunei for the purchase of six H145M helicopters.
Brunei's acquisition of the H145Ms, replacing its ageing BO105 fleet, aims to augment the air force's operational capabilities for tasks such as close air support and aerial surveillance.
The H145M is a versatile military helicopter offering a wide array of mission capabilities. The global fleet of the H145 family has amassed over seven million flight hours to date. It is utilised by armed forces, air units and law enforcement agencies worldwide for highly demanding operations. Brunei joins a list of nations including Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Serbia, and Thailand in acquiring the H145M.
Fitted with two Turbomeca Arriel 2E engines, the H145M features full authority digital engine control (FADEC). Additionally, the helicopter is outfitted with the Helionix digital avionics suite which, in conjunction with cutting-edge flight data management, incorporates a high-performance 4-axis autopilot, significantly reducing pilot workload during missions. Its remarkably low acoustic signature makes the H145M the quietest helicopter in its category.
