PLAY Airlines, Iceland’s burgeoning low-cost carrier, is celebrating its third anniversary by enhancing its collaboration with Dohop through the introduction of PLAY Connect. This strategic move positions the carrier as a retail partner and broadens its network free from the confines of traditional interline and codeshare agreements.
The airline is tapping into new market demand by partnering with five initial airlines, including Norwegian, Azores Airlines, and SKY express, with more partnerships anticipated. This expansion facilitates an additional 600 weekly flight connections, allowing customers to explore new destinations across the United States and Europe, such as the Nordic countries and the Greek islands.
PLAY Connect offers travellers access to 80 new destinations, seamlessly booking flight connections across multiple airline partners and including ancillary services in a single booking process. This complements PLAY’s existing service to 40 destinations, operated by its Airbus A320/A321 fleet.
Bookings made through PLAY Connect benefit from Dohop’s highly-rated passenger connection service, which provides support in the event of flight delays or cancellations that might affect onward travel.
