IAE International Aero Engines AG (IAE), a multinational consortium including shareholders such as RTX's Pratt & Whitney, Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation, and MTU Aero Engines AG, has announced the appointment of Kelly Horan as its new President. Horan takes over from Kim Kinsley, who has held the position since June 2023.
Earlier this year, Horan was named Vice President of V2500 programmes at Pratt & Whitney. She will now hold both roles simultaneously.
Kinsley will transition to the role of chairperson of the IAE board of directors while continuing her responsibilities as vice president of Mature Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, a role she has had since January 2024. In this capacity, she will continue to develop strategies and execution plans to support customers, extend product life, and maximise the value of the mature commercial engines portfolio.
“Kelly is a proven leader with the right skillset to lead IAE into its next chapter. She is well-positioned to serve customers by delivering flexible offerings for the narrowbody segment and supporting the expanding customer base of the Embraer C-390 Millennium military aircraft,” said Kinsley. “She is passionate about building high-performing teams, developing talent, championing diversity and inclusion, and collaborating across functions. Under Kelly's leadership, IAE will continue delivering the exceptional performance that V2500 customers expect.”
In her new role as President, Horan will oversee the integrated programme structure to support the IAE V2500 programme and ensure that financial, business, technical, customer, and partner commitments are met. With over 25 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, and commercial aftermarket, Horan brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. Her most recent role was vice president of Aftermarket, Mature Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney.
Founded in 1983, IAE has a collaboration agreement extending to 2045. The V2500 engine powers nearly 3,000 aircraft for more than 170 commercial, cargo, and military operators in 80 countries. To date, over 7,800 V2500 engines have been produced, powering more than 140 million flights and accumulating over 275 million engine flight hours. The engine is also utilised by the Embraer C-390 Millennium military aircraft and its growing customer base.
