As of June 24, 2024, TUI AG shares will once again be part of the MDAX on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Index provider ISS STOXX confirmed that TUI meets the necessary free-float market capitalisation criteria. This marks the tourism group's return to the German share index after approximately nine years.
CFO Mathias Kiep commented, “We aim to grow successfully, sustainably and profitably, making TUI an attractive long-term investment for both current and new shareholders. With our inclusion in the MDAX, we are now focusing on a single stock exchange listing rather than two, enhancing the visibility and attractiveness of our shares for investors. Our shareholders strongly supported the change from dual listing, and we are successfully completing this step with our MDAX inclusion. The UK market remains a key market for TUI, and the change from London to Frankfurt does not alter this.”
On June 4, it was also announced that TUI shares will be included in the STOXX Europe 600 Index. Despite this, the British index provider FTSE Russell excluded TUI shares from the FTSE250 Index as of June 3. However, the listing and trading on the London Stock Exchange will remain unaffected, with the last trading day set for June 21, 2024.
