BOC Aviation and Air Canada have signed an agreement for the placement of eight Boeing 737-8 aircraft from BOC Aviation's orderbook. All eight aircraft, powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines, are scheduled for delivery in 2024.
“We are delighted that Canada's flag carrier, Air Canada, is collaborating with us once again to strengthen its network,” said Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation. “The continued growth in passenger travel is driving demand for aircraft, which we are able to meet with this transaction, providing eight aircraft from our 100% latest technology orderbook.”
“We look forward to these aircraft entering service next year, following their reconfiguration. These eight brand-new, fuel and cost-efficient 737-8s will offer greater fleet flexibility and additional capacity, while supporting our sustainability goal of reducing emissions,” said Michael Rousseau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada.
