Quadrant Pilot, based in Burgess Hill, UK, and ProSim Training Solutions (ProSim), headquartered in Delft, The Netherlands, have announced the expansion of their partnership with the purchase of a Skalarki-built ProSimA322 Cockpit Procedures Trainer (CPT). The new trainer will be equipped with ProSim's Virtual Instruction XR tool (ViXR). This agreement was finalised at the Farnborough Airshow, where ProSim participated under the banner of TXT Aerospace & Defence.
Quadrant Pilot, a leading flight training centre and current user of ProSimA322 FMS Trainers, continues to pioneer the adoption of advanced training technologies that enhance the training experience for both airline customers and students. The new A322 CPT offers a fully tactile, open cockpit structure that can be placed in classroom environments, enabling high-fidelity training for all normal and abnormal procedures before trainees enter the Full Motion Simulators (FFS). This efficient use of training time results in a swift return on investment by reducing the amount of time each student needs in the FFS.
Simon Bill, Managing Director at Quadrant Pilot, expressed his satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting the CPT as a valuable addition to their training tools for airline type rating trainees. He emphasised Quadrant Pilot's commitment to delivering a premium training experience through the optimal combination of advanced training tools, expertly developed courseware, and top-tier instructors, noting that partnerships with suppliers like ProSim are key to achieving these goals.
The CPT's capabilities are further enhanced by the inclusion of the Virtual Instruction XR tool (ViXR), which increases training efficiency by allowing students to learn both normal and abnormal procedures independently at their own pace. This is facilitated by the use of a Hololens 2 in conjunction with the CPT, enabling a more flexible and personalised learning experience.
