XPENG AEROHT, a developer of flying cars, has entered into a strategic partnership with Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co. (GAMECO), an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company. This collaboration aims to combine XPENG AEROHT’s technological expertise in flying cars with GAMECO’s extensive MRO experience, creating a robust after-sales maintenance system that offers customers reliable and convenient support. The strategy cooperation agreement was signed in the presence of officials from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Central and Southern Regional Administration and the Guangzhou Aerotropolis Development District.
Low-altitude flight is an emerging field with many standards yet to be established, and GAMECO’s world-leading MRO capabilities will help XPENG AEROHT develop an after-sales maintenance system based on civil aviation safety management standards. In March 2024, XPENG AEROHT received official acceptance of its Type Certificate (TC) application for its first flying car designed for individual consumers, known as the “Modular Flying Car or Land Aircraft Carrier,” from the CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration.
This strategic partnership will focus on the joint development of continuing airworthiness documentation to enhance the safety of the product’s operation. XPENG AEROHT will also provide data and technological support to help GAMECO expand its business in the low-altitude economy sector, ensuring mutual benefits for both companies.
