Bird Aviation has announced the construction of a new hangar at the old Larnaca Airport, marking a significant expansion of its operations with the addition of a narrow-body aircraft bay. The project, which is being built adjacent to the company’s existing hangar, has already commenced and is scheduled for completion in the coming months.

The decision to expand follows increasing demand for Bird Aviation’s services and the steady growth of its client base. This development highlights the company’s strong reputation, built on consistent and reliable performance. The additional bay will enhance Bird Aviation’s capacity to meet rising demand, capitalising on Cyprus’s strategic location as a hub that connects Europe, Asia and Africa. This positioning allows the company to serve airlines across the EMEA region more effectively.

Frederic Pralus, CEO of Bird Aviation, expressed confidence in the project, stating: “This expansion is a natural step for us as we continue to grow and adapt to the needs of our customers. The new hangar will significantly increase our capacity and help us better serve the evolving needs of the aviation industry.”

With the new facility, Bird Aviation is set to further strengthen its operational capabilities and solidify its role as a key player in aircraft maintenance and services within the region.

Operating since 2016, Bird Aviation provides MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) services for aircraft, certified by EASA and various national civil aviation authorities. Today, the company employs over 150 workers and collaborates with some of the largest airlines in Europe and the wider region.
