StandardAero has added Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY airlines (PLAY) to its list of CFM International LEAP engine clients. StandardAero’s LEAP MRO facility in San Antonio, Texas, will deliver LEAP-1A performance restoration shop visit (PRSV) services for PLAY’s fleet of Airbus A320neo-family aircraft. This collaboration reflects StandardAero’s growing role in LEAP engine support and positions it as a reliable partner for global airlines seeking high-quality engine services.
As PLAY’s chosen maintenance provider, StandardAero offers OEM-authorised MRO services through its status as the first North American non-airline CFM branded service agreement (CBSA) holder for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. Under its Total Engine Asset Management (TEAM™) portfolio, StandardAero will provide PLAY with a range of services, including maintenance, repair, work scoping, engine testing, programme management, component repair, lease engine support and module swaps. This comprehensive support package aims to optimise PLAY’s fleet efficiency and meet operational demands.
StandardAero recently received LEAP-1A correlation approval for its test cell in San Antonio, following its earlier LEAP-1B approval. These certifications enable StandardAero to perform performance restoration shop visits (PRSV) and expanded continued time engine maintenance (CTEM) services for LEAP engines. Additionally, StandardAero’s Component Repair Services (CRS) division has industrialised over 230 component repairs for LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, broadening its MRO capabilities to meet growing demand.
