Honeywell and NXP Semiconductors N.V. announced at CES 2025 an enhanced partnership that aims to drive innovation in aviation and lay the groundwork for autonomous flight. This collaboration builds on their 2024 partnership, which focused on optimising building management systems to securely monitor and control energy usage. The new venture will integrate Honeywell's deep aerospace expertise, including the advanced Honeywell Anthem avionics system, with NXP's high-performance computing architecture. Together, they aim to create AI-driven aerospace technologies that enhance flight operations, improve planning and support seamless transitions to new chipsets and technologies.
As part of their efforts, Honeywell and NXP are developing next-generation cockpit displays with thinner, high-resolution screens designed to improve visual clarity and efficiency. These displays will redefine cockpit ergonomics, ensuring pilots can access critical information with greater ease. The partnership will also explore ways to streamline transitions to newer avionics technologies, extending the lifecycle of critical systems and ensuring long-term value for aircraft manufacturers and operators.
