Swiss AviationSoftware (Swiss-AS) has announced the successful implementation of its AMOS Line Maintenance Manager (LMM) at Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). This marks an important milestone in SWISS' journey towards optimising digital maintenance processes and increasing operational efficiency.
The AMOS LMM module is designed to streamline line maintenance operations for supervisors, providing a user-friendly platform to manage workflows effectively. The tool offers real-time visualisation of incoming flights, ground times and work packages. It also enables supervisors to assign line checks, create tasks, allocate staff and communicate assignments efficiently, ensuring seamless operations.
By adopting AMOS LMM, SWISS continues its commitment to modernising its maintenance processes. The integration of this solution has simplified SWISS' digital system landscape by consolidating multiple tools into a single platform. Mechanics now perform tasks directly on their iPads, significantly improving workflow efficiency and reducing complexity.
SWISS began its digital transformation in 2017 by equipping over 600 mechanics with iPhones, enabling them to digitally access and accept tasks. While this initiative eliminated paper-based task distribution, evolving digital needs necessitated a more comprehensive solution, leading to the implementation of AMOS LMM.
The development of AMOS LMM was a collaborative effort between SWISS and Swiss-AS. The initial version was adapted to align with SWISS' specific operational requirements. This partnership ensured that the tailored solution seamlessly integrated into SWISS' maintenance processes, delivering a modern and future-ready system.
The go-live event at SWISS' line maintenance offices in Zurich was a resounding success, with the system proving stable from day one. Swiss-AS representatives were on-site to provide support during the launch. Currently, around 40 users per shift, including short-haul mechanics, cabin and IFEN technicians, dispatchers and the maintenance control centre (MCC), are actively using AMOS LMM to streamline maintenance operations and enhance efficiency.
