Storm Aviation, a UK-based provider of line, light and base aircraft maintenance and part of the FL Technics Group, has been granted EASA Part 145 approval to carry out base maintenance on Airbus A330 aircraft at its Glasgow-Prestwick (PIK) hangar.
The Airbus A330 is among the world's most popular wide-body aircraft, and this new certification represents a significant development for Storm Aviation. According to CEO Thomas Buckley, “The Airbus A330 is the second-most delivered wide-body airliner in the world and being able to provide base maintenance services for this airframe gives us a competitive advantage.” He also noted that this certification will allow the company to support a wider range of operators and leasing companies seeking a strategically located, EASA-certified maintenance partner in the UK.
Storm Aviation's Prestwick facility is equipped for major base maintenance tasks, including heavy checks, lease return transitions and structural repairs on the A330. The site also supports a variety of other aircraft types, including the Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737 and Boeing 787. With flexible slot availability and efficient turnaround times, the hangar is well-positioned to meet the operational needs of both short- and long-haul operators.
Founded in 1996, Storm Aviation offers a comprehensive suite of services, ranging from AOG (aircraft on ground) support and aircraft modifications to 147 Technical Training, fuel tank repairs, aviation recruitment and tooling calibration, all tailored to the individual requirements of its clients.
