In a year marked by global disruption and intense industry competition, Qatar Airways Cargo has achieved its strongest financial results since the COVID-19 pandemic, posting a 17.4% rise in cargo revenue and transporting 1.5 million tonnes of chargeable weight. The airline attributes this success to its bold strategic direction, continual innovation, and unwavering operational reliability, keeping it ahead of industry peers.
Operating with a fleet of 28 modern Boeing 777 freighters, Qatar Airways Cargo serves a global network of over 60 dedicated freighter destinations and more than 160 belly hold locations. This extensive reach has enabled the carrier to sustain a leading global market share of 7.11%, underscoring its dominant position in the air freight sector.
However, the carrier's achievements extend beyond commercial performance. Under its WeQare sustainability and social responsibility initiative, Qatar Airways Cargo transported 470,000kg of humanitarian aid at no cost, working in collaboration with the UNHCR, Airlink, and other international NGOs. Furthermore, the WeQare “Rewild the Planet” initiative saw the airline carry 1,182 animals free of charge to support wildlife conservation efforts. These included 47 ring-tailed and brown lemurs, 155 radiated tortoises, 757 spider tortoises, and seven lions—each transported in partnership with conservation groups such as United for Wildlife and Animal Defenders International.
“Reaching the top is hard. Staying there takes vision, precision, improvement and teamwork,” said Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo. “Our agility in adapting to shifting market conditions, a focus on investing in digitalisation, deeper data-driven analyses, and best-in-class reliability is what has attributed to our success. I'm incredibly proud of the Qatar Airways Cargo team, our partners and customers who continue to make us the benchmark in air cargo.”
The carrier's performance highlights not only its commercial strength but also its growing role as a force for good in global logistics.
