VoltAero has achieved a major commercial milestone with the signing of an agreement to supply 15 Cassio 330 electric-hybrid aircraft—plus an option for an additional 15—to HM Aerospace Sdn Bhd, a prominent Malaysian flight academy. The aircraft will be used for pilot training once they receive EASA certification and approval from Malaysia’s Civil Aviation Authorities.
The deal, signed at the Paris Air Show, marks a major step forward in expanding the role of VoltAero’s Cassio aircraft beyond regional and business transport to include professional pilot training in the Asia-Pacific region. This region is experiencing rising demand for qualified pilots, making the partnership both timely and strategically important.
The agreement also formalises a strategic relationship with the Halim Mazmin Group, a diversified Malaysian conglomerate with interests spanning shipping, aviation, education, hospitality and tourism. Together, VoltAero and the Halim Mazmin Group plan to establish an ecosystem supporting electric-hybrid aviation throughout Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific area.
Attending the signing ceremony at Le Bourget Airport were VoltAero CEO & Chief Technology Officer Jean Botti, and Tan Sri Halim Mohammad, Founding Director of the Halim Mazmin Group. The event was witnessed by Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France, an early supporter of VoltAero and home to its Cassio assembly facility at Rochefort Airport.
With the HM Aerospace agreement, VoltAero’s orderbook for its Cassio range has grown to more than 280 units, including firm orders, agreements and commitments across regional air transport, air mobility, and business aviation sectors.
