SR Technics and Safran Aircraft Engines have signed an eight-year extension to their long-term agreement for the full overhaul and testing of the LEAP-1A engine, strengthening their established partnership and supporting the rapid growth of next-generation engine maintenance. This renewed collaboration further consolidates SR Technics’ position as a key maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider within the global LEAP engine network, while also aligning with Safran’s strategy to expand its MRO ecosystem.
The LEAP-1A engine, developed by CFM International—a joint venture between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aerospace—is powering the Airbus A320neo family and is seeing increasing global demand. To meet the rising need for servicing, SR Technics, with the backing of Safran, has invested heavily in cutting-edge MRO and engine test facilities, enabling it to deliver world-class maintenance solutions.
Owen McClave, CEO of SR Technics, welcomed the strengthened partnership, stating: “This extended collaboration with Safran Aircraft Engines is of great importance for SR Technics, as it will allow us to provide world-class new-generation engine maintenance services to the LEAP-1A operators. We are very grateful for the confidence and support Safran Aircraft Engines has shown with this eight-year commitment.” He also highlighted that the agreement reinforces the company’s strategic investments in infrastructure, skilled personnel and advanced technology.
This extension not only affirms the trust and success shared between the two companies but also reflects the increasing demand for efficient, high-performance engine maintenance across the aviation industry.
