RECARO Aircraft Seating (RECARO) has confirmed that production of seats for LOT Polish Airlines (LOT) will be undertaken exclusively at RECARO's facility in Poland. The agreement covers the retrofit of LOT's Boeing 787-8 economy-class cabins with the R3 seat, as well as the installation of the R2 economy-class seat on the airline's Boeing 737-MAX8 and regional jet fleet, a partnership first revealed during the Paris Air Show.
This initiative reflects LOT's commitment to high-quality aviation solutions manufactured locally and aligns with RECARO's “in the region for the region” strategy, which focuses on operating production facilities close to major customers. Centralising manufacturing at the Poland site highlights the adaptability of RECARO's global operations while supporting LOT's strategic focus on operational efficiency and passenger experience.
The R2 seats designated for the Boeing 737-MAX8 and regional jet fleet will feature genuine leather dress covers in LOT's signature blue, with the airline's insignia embroidered on a small seam tag. Passengers can expect enhanced comfort thanks to a six-way adjustable headrest, a four-inch recline (on the MAX8 version), comfort cushions, holders for personal devices, and Astronics high-power USB-C charging ports.
“Choosing RECARO seats for LOT's new aircraft is a decision based on passenger comfort, quality, and convenience. Importantly, they are made in Poland. Producing the seats in Świebodzin supports jobs in Poland and is a great example of successful international cooperation with strong local roots,” emphasised Michał Fijoł, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines.
