Textron Aviation has announced an agreement with Infinity Flight Group for the purchase of ten additional Cessna Skyhawk aircraft, scheduled for delivery in 2027. This latest order brings Infinity Flight Group's total purchases to 35 new Skyhawks over the past three years, reflecting sustained growth in its training operations.
Infinity Flight Group, a certified Cessna Pilot Center, operates primarily from Trenton-Mercer Airport in New Jersey and Treasure Coast Airport in Florida, currently managing a fleet of 65 Skyhawks. The addition of these new aircraft will further expand its ability to train student pilots, strengthening its position as a leading provider of flight instruction in the United States.
The Cessna Skyhawk, widely recognised as the most popular single-engine aircraft in aviation history, continues to be the preferred choice for flight training schools globally due to its reliability, ease of handling and versatility. Since its introduction in 1955, more than 45,000 Skyhawks have been delivered, establishing it as an enduring symbol of pilot training and personal aviation.
Infinity Flight Group's new aircraft will incorporate Textron Aviation's recently introduced dual electronic ignition system (dual EIS). This technological enhancement is designed to improve operational efficiency, simplify maintenance and enhance overall aircraft performance, ensuring the training fleet meets modern standards of safety and reliability.
The timing of this order coincides with Textron Aviation's celebration of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk's 70th anniversary, commemorating seven decades since its inaugural flight in June 1955. Over the years, the Skyhawk has continued to evolve with advanced avionics, including the Garmin G1000 NXi suite with wireless connectivity and a standard angle-of-attack display, while retaining its proven high-wing, four-seat configuration.
This investment underscores Infinity Flight Group's commitment to producing the next generation of pilots and Textron Aviation's focus on innovation and long-term support for training providers worldwide.
