IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group, has appointed Josh Lane as director of London operations, highlighting the strategic importance of London Heathrow as its global headquarters and busiest hub. The role aims to strengthen operational efficiency and deliver improved customer-focused services.
Lane, who previously served as Head of Warehouse at IAG Cargo, was instrumental in launching and managing New Premia, the state-of-the-art handling facility at Heathrow that opened in 2023. Designed to handle high-priority products such as pharmaceuticals, New Premia has boosted speed, reliability and capacity, setting a new benchmark for premium cargo services.
In his new position, Lane will oversee all cargo activity at Heathrow, focusing on process efficiency, the adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence for faster, data-driven decision-making, and service improvements across the operation.
Adam Carson, Chief Operating Officer at IAG Cargo, praised Lane’s previous contributions and emphasised the importance of the role: “Josh’s leadership and input has already had a major impact on our London operation. This role allows us to further build on that momentum and ensure we have the structure, systems, and support in place to drive performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction at our Heathrow hub.”
The appointment reflects IAG Cargo’s commitment to operational excellence and its focus on meeting growing customer demands at one of the world’s busiest cargo hubs.
