StandardAero has completed the relocation of its UK-based Honeywell Aerospace GTCP36 auxiliary power unit (APU) maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) programme to its Fleetlands facility in Gosport, UK. The transition is designed to enhance operational efficiency, increase capacity, and reduce turnaround times for customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The UK APU repair programme was originally authorised by Honeywell in 1998 at the Portsmouth site of H+S Aviation, which StandardAero acquired in 2021. Moving the GTCP36 line to Gosport builds on the site’s role as the primary EMEA hub for the company’s MRO services for Honeywell TFE731 and HTF7000 engines and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW300 and PW500 business aviation turbofan engines.
StandardAero’s support for GTCP36 APUs also extends to its Augusta, Georgia and Maryville, Tennessee facilities in the United States. The company noted that the relocation of the GTCP36 programme to Gosport was carefully managed to minimise any disruption to ongoing customer maintenance work.
The integration leverages the Gosport team’s engineering expertise and established processes, enabling improved responsiveness to customer needs. The move reflects StandardAero’s broader commitment to operational excellence and customer service quality.
The transition was executed with strict safety and quality protocols to protect both employees and customers, and was supported by UK-based teams, U.S. employees, and industry partners. The company views the relocation as a significant milestone in strengthening its UK operations and supporting its long-term growth ambitions in the region.
