3TOP has completed the purchase of two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 sister engines, bearing serial numbers 41623 and 41624, in a move that strengthens its presence in the wide-body engine market. These engines will join the company’s teardown and leasing pool, providing additional flexibility and value to its customers.
The Trent 700 engines, widely used on Airbus A330 aircraft, are recognised for their reliability and strong aftermarket performance. By adding these engines to its portfolio, 3TOP is making a strategic step into the Trent family of wide-body powerplants, broadening its product range beyond the regional and narrow-body segments where it already has a significant presence.
Chief Executive Officer Chris Emechete described the acquisition as an important milestone for the company, noting that the engines are the first Trent 700 models to enter its inventory. He explained that this move reflects 3TOP’s commitment to investing in high-value assets with proven aftermarket pedigree and aligns with its strategy of delivering diverse solutions across multiple aircraft platforms.
The engines will be utilised both for parts reclamation through teardown activities and for placement into the company’s leasing pool, enabling 3TOP to meet the needs of operators seeking flexible, cost-effective engine solutions. This dual approach increases the company’s ability to support airlines and maintenance providers globally, enhancing operational efficiency and minimising downtime for customers.
The acquisition underscores 3TOP’s growth ambitions and its focus on expanding product offerings to key customers worldwide. With the addition of the Trent 700 engines, the company is positioned to further strengthen its role in the aerospace aftermarket, offering a broader portfolio and reinforcing its reputation as a reliable partner in engine support and leasing.
