Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking (Natixis CIB) has successfully underwritten a senior secured term loan to finance eleven Airbus A321ceo aircraft for LATAM Airlines Group S.A., the largest airline group in Latin America.
LATAM, headquartered in Santiago, Chile, operates an extensive domestic and international route network, serving both passenger and cargo markets. Its diversified fleet, spread across affiliates in Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru, comprises more than 350 aircraft, making it a leading operator in the region.
For this financing, Natixis CIB acted as joint mandated lead arranger and lender alongside Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). The senior secured commercial loan will support LATAM in acquiring the eleven Airbus A321ceo aircraft, enhancing its operational capacity across key markets.
The transaction reflects Natixis CIB’s continued commitment to the aviation industry and its role in facilitating growth for major carriers in Latin America. By structuring and arranging this financing, the bank has helped LATAM strengthen its fleet with fuel-efficient, narrowbody aircraft well-suited for regional and medium-haul operations.
This deal also aligns with LATAM’s broader strategic objectives, which focus on optimising its capital structure, maintaining liquidity, and ensuring access to competitive long-term funding for core fleet assets. The inclusion of the A321ceo aircraft supports the airline’s operational efficiency and flexibility while meeting rising demand in both domestic and international markets.
The partnership between LATAM, Natixis CIB, and SMBC builds on an established track record of cooperation, underscoring the value of strong financial relationships in delivering strategic fleet and funding initiatives. With the transaction completed, LATAM is positioned to strengthen its network and maintain its competitive edge as the leading airline group in Latin America.
