Azorra has announced the delivery of two Embraer E175 aircraft to Indian regional carrier Star Air, marking the start of its first customer partnership in India. The second of the 88-seat, all-economy jets has now arrived in Bengaluru, Karnataka, following the first delivery in April 2025. Two additional E175s are scheduled for delivery over the coming months, completing a lease agreement signed earlier this year.
In addition to these new deliveries, Azorra has novated four Embraer E175s on lease to Star Air from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), following its acquisition of 49 Embraer E-Jets from DAE in May 2025. The combined additions will support Star Air’s transition to larger jet operations, enabling it to expand services and strengthen its presence in India’s growing aviation sector.
The deliveries are significant for Azorra, representing its first transactions in India and reinforcing its strategy to expand across Asia-Pacific. The lessor sees the deal as a strong vote of confidence in Star Air and the wider Indian aviation market, which is experiencing rapid growth.
For Star Air, the E175s align closely with its strategic goal of connecting tier-two and tier-three cities across India. The additional aircraft will allow the airline to scale operations, enhance network connectivity, improve passenger comfort, and maintain cost efficiency.
Azorra’s activity in Asia-Pacific extends beyond India. Earlier in 2025, it delivered the first of two new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft to Hunnu Air, marking the introduction of the E2 model into Mongolia. The lessor has also delivered seven E195-E2s to Scoot as part of a nine-aircraft lease deal. These moves underline Azorra’s growing role in supplying regional and mid-size jets to carriers across the region, while deepening its relationships with operators in diverse and fast-growing markets.
