Air Europa has renewed and expanded its partnership with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) to ensure continued total component support (TCS) for its entire Boeing 737 fleet, emphasising the airline’s commitment to operational reliability and future growth. The updated contract now covers both the existing 737 next-generation (NG) aircraft and the airline’s 737 MAX fleet, making Air Europa the first and only Spanish carrier to operate the MAX.
Headquartered in Llucmajor on the Balearic Island of Mallorca, Air Europa currently operates 28 Boeing 737s, comprising 26 NG models and two MAX aircraft. The airline’s 737 MAX fleet is poised for significant expansion, with 18 additional aircraft on order, expected to enter service by mid-2027. The extension of the TCS agreement ensures that Air Europa will continue to benefit from comprehensive component support as its fleet grows, maintaining high operational standards across its network.
Under the TCS programme, Air Europa will receive a broad spectrum of services designed to maximise aircraft availability and efficiency. These services include maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of components, access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare parts pool, and logistical support. Two home base stock locations at Air Europa’s facilities in Madrid and Mallorca will provide quick access to essential parts, helping to minimise operational downtime.
Pedro Macías Domínguez, Chief Technical Officer at Air Europa, highlighted the strategic importance of the renewed collaboration: “Our decision to continue working with Lufthansa Technik in the field of component support, and to expand the new contract to cover even more aircraft is based on the strong and reliable performance their teams have demonstrated over the years as well as their quality, flexibility and depth of engineering expertise. We are confident that this partnership will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the operational excellence of Air Europa.”
