The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) have certified Aircraft Propeller Services’ (APS) maintenance centre in Subang to maintain, repair and overhaul propellers used on ATR turboprop aircraft. The facility has also achieved AS9100 certification, the internationally recognised quality management standard for the aerospace industry.
This approval means ATR operators in Nepal and the Philippines can now send their Collins Aerospace 568F propeller systems to APS Malaysia for MRO services. Previously, these components had to be shipped outside the region.
“Airlines in Nepal and the Philippines previously had to send their propellers to North America or Europe for repairs and overhaul. Keeping the propellers within the region by using our Malaysia facility reduces turnaround times, simplifies logistics and improves fleet availability,” said Fergus Lopez, Managing Director of APS Asia Pacific.
APS Malaysia is currently the only MRO organisation in Asia Pacific licensed by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to service 568F propeller systems, using OEM-approved processes and materials.
The company is already certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
“The certifications from CAAP and CAAN are significant, as both countries operate large ATR fleets. Together with our AS9100 certification, these regulatory validations reinforce APS Malaysia as a trusted regional hub for propeller and component MRO,” Lopez added.
