GE Aerospace has confirmed the ratification of a new five-year agreement with employees represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM Union), marking the completion of its latest labour negotiation cycle. The contract, which covers around 550 IAM-represented employees at the company’s Evendale, Ohio site, came into force following a ballot and will remain valid until 18, August 2030.
The deal follows several weeks of discussions which officially began on July 29, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. GE Aerospace emphasised that the agreement maintains its workforce among the highest paid in the community, while also recognising their contribution to both commercial and military customers. Chief Human Resources Officer Christian Meisner praised the outcome, stating that the company is “proud to have an agreement that keeps our employees among the highest paid in the community” and thanked union leadership for their collaboration.
The announcement comes as GE Aerospace continues parallel talks with the United Auto Workers (UAW), seeking a similarly “fair, mutually beneficial agreement” that balances employee welfare with the company’s long-term competitiveness. The firm pointed to recent successful negotiations with both the IAM Union and the IUE-CWA as evidence of its commitment to working through difficult issues in good faith.
The company views these agreements as critical to ensuring operational stability while sustaining a motivated and well-rewarded workforce. GE Aerospace highlighted the importance of continuity for its wide range of aerospace activities, noting that strong partnerships with unions are essential in securing both local jobs and broader business health.
While negotiations with the UAW are still underway, the completion of the IAM agreement represents a significant milestone. It not only secures certainty for hundreds of employees in Ohio but also signals GE Aerospace’s intent to maintain a constructive, long-term approach to labour relations.
