Air Lease Corporation (Air Lease) has confirmed the lease and delivery of two additional Airbus A321-200neo aircraft to China Airlines, further strengthening its partnership with the Taiwan-based flag carrier. These aircraft were delivered on the 16th and 20th of August, marking the seventh and eighth A321neos to join the airline under long-term lease agreements from Air Lease’s orderbook with Airbus.
John L. Plueger, Chief Executive Officer and President of Air Lease, welcomed the development, noting that the delivery underlined Air Lease’s commitment to its long-term relationship with China Airlines. He explained that the modern aircraft will help support the airline’s continuing fleet development and expansion strategy, particularly at a time when demand for travel across the Asia-Pacific region continues to recover and grow.
China Airlines emphasised that the introduction of the new A321neo aircraft is central to its plan to enhance fleet capacity and maintain competitiveness in a rapidly evolving aviation market. The carrier said that the latest deliveries are part of a broader strategy to steadily expand its international route network while simultaneously upgrading efficiency and sustainability. By leasing rather than purchasing outright, China Airlines is able to pursue fleet modernisation in a flexible and cost-effective way.
The airline also highlighted that the A321neo offers improvements in fuel efficiency and passenger comfort, making it a vital asset for medium-haul operations. With the addition of these two aircraft, China Airlines strengthens its ability to meet growing passenger demand while upholding high service standards, reinforcing its reputation for reliability and quality.
