Satair, the Airbus Services subsidiary and a key provider in the commercial aerospace aftermarket, has introduced a new cargo floor panel solution that broadens its Airbus Semi-Finished Floor Panel (ASFP) product line. The development, called Cargo Robust, extends maintenance support to both passenger and cargo areas of Airbus aircraft, offering operators and maintenance organisations a more durable and efficient option for structural floor repairs.

The Cargo Robust panels were designed in close cooperation with Airbus Engineering and materials supplier Schütz GmbH & Co. KGaA. They build on the ASFP passenger solution launched in 2022 but are tailored to meet the tougher demands of cargo environments. The panels place strong emphasis on operational resilience and long-term performance, addressing a clear need for more robust options in the market.

Like the earlier ASFP products, the Cargo Robust panels are supplied in a semi-finished state. This enables operators and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers to cut and drill the panels on-site according to their specific requirements. The approach reduces downtime and costs compared with fully finished replacements. Furthermore, the use of high-performance polymer inserts and hard points lowers the risk of corrosion in humid conditions and ensures a consistent standard of installation across various aircraft fleets.

The updated ASFP range now supports repairs in seat, aisle, galley and cargo zones across Airbus’s leading aircraft families, including the A320, A330, A340, A350 and A380. All panels are stocked in Satair’s worldwide warehouse network, ensuring rapid availability and shorter lead times for customers.

By adding the Cargo Robust option, Satair has strengthened its aftermarket offering while giving operators greater flexibility to manage repairs. The solution also aligns closely with Airbus’s own maintenance standards, ensuring quality and reliability for customers worldwide. In doing so, it simplifies processes, improves turnaround times, and reduces complexity for operators who need dependable solutions in demanding environments.
