AAR CORP. has entered into a significant new multi-year defence distribution agreement with AmSafe Bridport, a TransDigm company. The collaboration positions AAR as the exclusive distributor for KC-46 and C-40 platform products across direct and indirect sales channels within the global defence and military aftermarket.
The agreement extends to key customers such as the United States Defence Logistics Agency (DLA), the U.S. Armed Services for fleet sustainment, and allied foreign militaries, including Japan’s defence sector. By integrating AmSafe Bridport’s product lines within its distribution network, AAR expects to strengthen internal coordination on government contracts, particularly through its Government Programmes division. This, in turn, is anticipated to enhance customer service and operational efficiency for military clients worldwide.
A notable element of the contract is its role in diversifying AAR’s existing defence distribution portfolio, now broadened to include advanced cargo handling solutions. These products are vital for modern military logistics, supporting the safe, secure, and efficient transportation of critical materials.
Senior leaders from both organisations welcomed the deal. Natalie Paul, Senior Vice President of Sales and Engineering at AmSafe Bridport, emphasised the synergy created by combining “proven safety and cargo handling solutions” with AAR’s expansive distribution infrastructure and in-region support. She highlighted that the partnership ensures military operators receive critical products “exactly when and where they’re needed.”
Frank Landrio, AAR’s Senior Vice President of Distribution, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the strategic significance of the agreement. He noted that the partnership not only broadens AAR’s product range for the KC-46 and C-40 aircraft but also complements the company’s value-added services. The outcome, he said, would be “a more comprehensive suite of offerings” for customers.
Overall, the agreement represents a strengthening of transatlantic defence supply chains and reflects a growing emphasis on global military readiness. By leveraging AAR’s established logistics reach and AmSafe Bridport’s expertise in safety and cargo systems, the collaboration is poised to deliver enhanced reliability and support to defence operators across multiple regions.
